I memba hearing the show being mentioned around on places like 4chan back in 2006 but I didn't take much note of it until 2011. Watched a lot of stand up on Youtube and stumbled on a clip of Louis CK on da show and hearing comedians in a long form conversation like that was a novelty for me so I started digging some more. Patrice dying around that time meant there was a lot of his stuff on the web so that was what I mostly listened to.

Mostly short clips and appearances at first. I didn't really have the interest or opportunity at first so I gradually worked my way up as the Virus took its hold on me. Patrice stuff > best of bits stuff > full shows. I distinctly remember listening to some of the hurricane Sandy shows. Wasn't that interested about the off air shit, it was just some entertainment for me atm so the whole Ant getting fired past me by. I think the Greggshells video popped into my feed 2016-ish and my thought process went something like this:

"Wow, that Opie sure is something. Poor Ant, at least he's got HIS show now. Compound Media might even be worth subscribing to, there's no way he isn't still hilarious! Hey, that means there must still be active O&A fan sites around. Never did check that out, might be a welcome relief from all the fighting over Trump everywhere. Let me google it. Hmm... Reddit? Known faggot site but I'll give it a try..."

Imagine my confusion as I opened the page and it was plastered with Sue Lightning and SAMCRO Joe.

I may have actually voted the wrong era, but it was as soon as I realized Colin Quinn did the OnA show a lot more often than he did Howard Stern - the first thing I remember listening to closely was Colin coming in and being all depressed, fucking lamenting having Jim Norton as a friend for over an hour.
