I started off listening to Burr and Louis clips. Honestly I though O&A were irritating chuckleheads, but it pains me to say that I thought "the nasally sounding guy" wad sometimes funny. Then I figured out that was Norton and listened to a bunch of his clips and by the time I was done with those I liked the show.

The earliest clip I remember listening to that was mainly just Ant and Norton being funny is the Elephant Man clip.

I may have actually voted the wrong era, but it was as soon as I realized Colin Quinn did the OnA show a lot more often than he did Howard Stern - the first thing I remember listening to closely was Colin coming in and being all depressed, fucking lamenting having Jim Norton as a friend for over an hour.

I just remembered how I made the connection and I'm such a basic bitch listener honestly.
On the other hand, I never paid for Sirius and only pirated on the tail end of the show which I'm glad about.

2010 Stanhope guests on early JRE, keep watching for guests like Tom Green, ignore the Kreischers, the Diazes et al.
2011 Joe keeps bringing up O&A literally every three podcasts
2012 Finally decide to see Baby bird on Youtube, absolutely enthralled - instantly went over to check on Reddit

Fun fac: Joe Rogan loves and brings up this bit every time O&A is brought up which is all the evidence you need for his humorlessness.

The DMAN’s devotion to Opie & Anthony began when he was a young DBOY in 1999. O&A had just moved back to New York at WNEW less than a year earlier.

One of the first bits The DMAN remembers was Auntie doing his Tom Brokaw impression as Tom Broken Jaw. The DMAN was immediately laughing harder than he had laughed since he was a dopey DBABY giggling at a rattle.

Then The DMAN went online and found their old WAAF pranks which he has also just recently revisited… The DMAN hates how late stage O&A pretended like they were complete hacks in the old days. Their prank calls at WAAF definitely hold up VERY well.

In fact, a lot of O&A pranks from WAAF would likely go viral today. Just completely HARASSING low IQ Boston townies and boomers. They were too early to catch on on the internet, and by the time virality was happening, O&A stopped doing prank calls.

“BUTTPLUG?” was infamous on Limewire, but that was just one in a long series of pranks they did like that. Anal Warts? Fellatio? Fellatio. FELLATIO? Fellatio…

O&A on WAAF may not have been as “self aware,” but the vibe of the show was pure O&A. Whatever you liked about chemistry between O&A in the later days was definitely more concentrated and pure in the WAAF days

The first show I listened to (on XM) happened to be the first day they were back on regular radio. When was that? I remember Ant was sick and called himself a faggot, which was completely accurate.
