Opie once booked Dice on the same day as the Gay Off Contest and had the staff bring Dice in during the actual contest just to mess with Dice. This was after they had already had some major falling outs with Dice over the years. Dice tried to roll with it but ended up leaving. Eventually pretty much everyone ended up tapping out during that contest because of how uncomfortable the entire thing was.

As much as I hate to agree with Jay Mohr in that video, I agree with his point about Dice getting trapped in the character. The reason he was so weird on OnA in the mid 2000s (albeit in a funny way) was he was doing this character still after 20 years. Maybe there was something of him in that character when he started, but basically he was trying to do a wrestling gimmick as a 50 year old man. As for his comedy there's a reason he had a few years on top then by the early 90s he faded. It was novel for a while him saying all that nasty shit, but eventually people just got used to it, then expected it.

The Gay Off might not be the funniest radio but one of the most memorable later O&A shows. I like how it just gets worse and worse as it goes to the point they did an hour long recap of the aftermath a day or so later.
