I will say, the biggest appeal that O&A could have to younger generations like myself is the early 2000’s nostalgia it brings. A lot of my favorite O&A bits are covering 2000’s news topics because I wasn’t conscious for most of them, so its sort of like a time capsule to see what a bunch of fucking retards thought back then. And also O&A acts as a time capsule for when media wasn’t entirely sanitized. It’s not trying to be edgy by saying faggot or making offensive jokes, those were “just more acceptable back then”. So as more time passes I think people will yearn for that type of content and enjoy it as more censorship appears.
I guess you could call it nostalgia. It’s a tough one, man. I used to listen to the replay show at lunch time midnight break when I worked in the Bronx (ugh fucking Sam). Totally random but when you first heard da show did you completely mismatch Opie and Anthony’s voices? Maybe it’s just me but I heard them differently.
