Which is why people haven't moved to DFW or Houston. It's cooler in a bit more north, but Houston is hell to get through unless you live closer to the coast to catch a breeze every now and then.
There's nothing here behind the Pine Curtain and yet people are moving here in droves, not Californians though, disgruntled people from Austin who build shitty McMansions or double wides, which are both built from the same materials.
Every single person I knew who moved from the West Coast has moved right back. The money you save on taxes gets sucked right up in almost everything else, plus you don't get the safety nets afforded by those other states.
