I can’t believe how simple google searches poked many holes in pats story yet NBC news couldn’t be bothered to verify anything. If someone tricked a heating company into shutting of a customers heat without their knowledge / consent you would think someone would verify. Nope!

It's illegal to shut off utilities even if you don't pay. You have to pay all the back bills in April, but until then they can't shut it off. My family has a place up there and I used to spend a lot of time in Wisconsin. It's really common for people to just not pay all winter and then scramble to set up a payment plan in April. The utility companies can get sued for shutting off your heat. If someone did impersonate piggy and say the "place is empty please shut off the gas" they still would have had to knock on the door and make sure. Especially since it's a duplex they would have had to shut off gas for both addresses. He's lying.

If Pat was some asshole landlord trying to drive his tenants out by fucking with the heat, those tenants could sue the utility company if they shut off their gas. I was thinking that you can't just call up a gas company go *snicker* hey this is Patrick Tomlinson, can you turn off the heat at my house? Yeah please don't call the numbers you have listed for Patrick or Niki to confirm this, take my word and just shut the heat off immediately.

This is just like "The stlakers called a truck to try and take Susan!" lie. People should reach out to the gas company and say how reckless and dangerous it is to turn off someone's heat based on prank phone calls.

Apparently, the leccy company can't cut you off in the UK if you have children. I knew this bloke who was blagging left right and center. He said that because he had children he'd just never pay the bills. Children need heat and food.

Another one of his hustles was signing on the dole while working as a taxi driver. They make you sign on at odd times, but if you're black cabbing it then that's no bother. He must've been taking the piss because they sent someone out to photograph him clearly working. He just said "Nah, mate. That's not me. Doesn't even look like me!"
