You folks ever tried to filter cheap vodka with a Brita?

Yes. I used to use something that was sold on liquorfilter.com (went out of business) that was a filter with two funnels on either side. Take an empty vodka bottle put it on top, put the filter and the empty on top of the full bottle, flip it over and watch it drain like sands through the hourglass.

When you pay for vodka, you pay for advertising and filtering. Nobody needs the advertising, and you can do the filtering yourself. (I filtered bottom shelf vodka 4 times, though and it does take a while.)

I don't drink spirits anymore, though.

"Distillation is the process of separating components or substances from a liquid mixture by selective boiling and condensation, usually inside an apparatus known as a still."

Sounds a lot like a form of filtering though.

Holy shit I am not looking for some home made bomb equipment, is there any easier way?

Do the plastic in a Brita filter melt into the vodka?
The lil beads of ion exchange resin are soluble in alcohol that are in the brita filters, plastic isn't the issue. You can use a coffee filter and activated carbon if you're a poorcel to filter, just takes longer.

Why do that when the finest vodka made is only $10?

No, you're paying for the BTUs and extra stills to make it a 3 distillation(or however many more) stage process instead of one. Back to reddit, libtard.

When Sydney Frank founded Grey Goose, the fanciest vodka on the market was Absolut - famous for its iconic bottle and advertising. And Absolut was expensive.

In 1996 it sold for $15-17 bucks a bottle.

And at the time that was considered to be an outrageous amount of money to pay for a single bottle of vodka.

But Sidney Frank knew he’d have to steal some of Absolut’s premium market share for his new brand to be a success.

So what did he do?

A more short-sighted marketer might've undercut Absolut and charged $10 dollars a bottle.

But Frank understood the psychological power of pricing. So he just decided to sidestep all that competition and charge an eye watering $30 a bottle.
