I need a new desktop computer and I'm honestly thinking about getting a Mac Mini. I got the M1 MacBook a few years ago and I actually really fucking like it. It's the first time I've ever actually thought a Mac product was of good value. I'm considering a Mac Mini for work what should I do

I need to do a lot of development shit. If I was just going to browse the web and not do anything too cool I would get one of those.

i just bought myself an M1 macbook air for only $750 at costco, it's a fawking great quality laptop at that price. problem with apples is the apple tax. mine is the base model which is a great value but if you needed 16 gig of RAM for the programs you use the same computer was like $400 more for a stick of ram!

Apple Silicon to Apple's credit really is amazing and if game developers actually gave a shit you'd get big games running on those computers just fine. If you want a laptop and truly do not care about video games, it's the best option in 2024, which is very funny looking back, considering how shit their MacBooks were in 2015 or so when they wanted thinness over performance. Remember when they jumped the gun before the M chips with the MacBook in 2015 that had an Intel chip with no fan?

Nothing works on Macs anymore since they stopped using intel chips. I bought a new MacBook Pro last year and none of my old software works anymore. THANKS APPLE FOR YOUR USELESS SECURITY UPDATES!!!!!!!

I have an M2 and it's amazing. I don't game on it much but there are lots of Steam games that run on it.

Oddly I have the most problems running Linux VMs -- it's gotten better but there aren't a lot ARM64 linux to choose from.
