I kept reading Tarantinos filmography and ignoring its existence because it was written about negatively. After finally checking it out, I think it's great. This alternate tv version you're talking about didn't have the finger thing?

The two versions have two different endings. There's one where the wife rushes in to stop the game. Then she says something like "It's not even his car, it's mine! Though, it took a lot to win it." Then she takes off a glove and she's only got two fingers.

The other ending... I think it's the man from the south who is missing fingers. In neither version does the gambler's finger come off. I could look this up, but I'm trying to challenge my memory.
