Been to Vegas a lot and used to work in Atlantic City casinos. Casino business is very interesting, if you gamble enough they will let you do whatever you want, even if it’s illegal. I once saw a drunk high roller (7 stars tier, highest for Caesars Entertainment casinos, they gamble over 100k a year) punching security guards and they just had to take it until he tired out. The motto for the 7 stars is “if a 7 stars member asks, the answer is always yes”

I used to play a bit of blackjack, went on a nice winning streak for a bit there. Then I just decided to stop playing and haven’t played in years.

Casinos back then were trashy and I can’t imagine how much worse they’ve gotten. I’d go to Atlantic City and it had it all - People chain smoking, fat people on hoverounds, people sleeping on the slot machines. I’ve never been to Vegas and really have no desire to go.

I go once or twice a year. Play some blackjack and then hit the slots. I mostly just stick to sports gambling though.

Atlantic City is a total shithole. Went once and stayed at Resorts and it was one of the trashiest casinos I've ever been in. The rest on the boardwalk weren't much better. Some of the ones around the New England area while not the most high end have pretty tame crowds.

I went to the MGM at the National Harbor while staying there and it was ghetto as fuck for how nice the hotel was.

I once was at Bobby's Room in Vegas, watching a friend play, and I saw a well known high stakes poker player lose probably $300K of his own money in one hand. Dude proceeds to stand up from the table and start stuttering very loudly and breathing heavily. Wanders off into a corner of the casino right near the card room and starts crying very loudly to the point where people stopped gambling to stare at him. And in a loud crying voice he said something like "does anybody have any coke?". At which point the security guards began carrying him to his room.

Almost every high stakes 'pro' goes broke. I can't use names but a few of the reported most 'winning' poker players are completely broke. Some try to make money with investment scams, crypto scams, real estate scams, recruiting whales for casinos, dealing drugs to players, working as loan sharks to find broke players for the sharks to lend money to, or some have even gone into business with mafia groups to try to scam casinos.

Guy Laliberte, founder of Cirque du Soleil, lost over $30million gambling poker..............online. Not even in person. Playing poker on his computer over the internet blew $30million. No one wins but the (((casino owners))) and the government.
