Early 2000s BBC equivalent of 24 without the ticking clock gimmick. It centres around the MI5 counterterrorism unit. Rewatching it now and it holds up OK so far. First episode was a bit corny, 2nd episode has a based character that people on this forum would love. And some bitch gets her head deep fried, which got loads of complaints when it aired. Later on they do a Princess Di episode where they invent and then solve a conspiracy in order to appease some nut job. It watch pretty good imo

It was good but I bet it looks shitty 20 years on. The woman who got deep fried hand and head wasn't shown on screen particularly just implied but the actress was well known so it was kinda a shock they killed her off so early into the show. I remember it very clearly. They didn't even show any gore but people still talk about it now.

Top tier BBC shows are much happier to kill off big names than American dramas that even set in a world with lots of death keeps stars safe.

Yeah, it's mostly implied but was still fairly effective. There was another BBC show called Messiah that I want to rewatch. It's about a serial killer who crucifies people and I remember it being quite gory, but I was fairly young when it aired.

Watch Utopia (2013), one of my favourite shows. Only issue is it got cancelled before the third season, so it's a bit annoying but not detrimental to the overall show. (no shitty cliffhanger, you can tell what they were going to do for the third season).
