This video was fucking great. Dude was very charming. I could watch him chip away at those bricks all morning.I love this fella. His broad Lancashire accent and no nonsense man of toil attitude has always fascinated me. He was the last of the old ways that are now truly gone. Some of the footage of him is truly astonishing.

This from a kids TV show about how they used to clean Nelson's column in Trafalgar Square turns my stomach a number of times especially when they get in the swing type thing over the edge and when he climbs right up to touch the hat.I'm so afraid of heights. I work on roofs all the time and having to work over the edge scares the shit out of me. Seeing people climb extreme heights makes my stomach lurch like I'm the one doing it.
There's a lot of stuff about him he was on TV for decades. He normally would knock down the stacks with fire if he couldThis video was fucking great. Dude was very charming. I could watch him chip away at those bricks all morning.

There would totally be a point where I glanced down for a second and it would fucking paralyze me and I'd just be stuck clinging to a ladder until I fell.
My husband and I were at a friend's property for a 4th of July bbq and he was showing us his new house under construction. We were leaving the second floor and I froze at the top of the ladder (the staircase hadn't been built in yet). I had to be gently encouraged and talked down by the two of them - my husband got on the ladder right below me so I'd feel safe that he'd catch me. It was so embarassing because it was our first time spending so much time with the host. There would totally be a point where I glanced down for a second and it would fucking paralyze me and I'd just be stuck clinging to a ladder until I fell.
The same thing happened to me when I was a kid. Getting back on the ladder is the scary part. The same situation, my cousin was building an addition to his house and I went up no problem and then it was way higher than I thought and I went fear-retarded and my brain just wouldn't let me figure out how to get back on the ladder without feeling like I was going to fall. My younger cousins, two of whom were girls, did it no problem and my dad and my older cousin were getting annoyed that I was being such a pussy. This video was wonderful but my palms broke into a sweat when he hoisted himself over that scaffolding. Bless him.
When you're up high and you've never gone down a ladder before it's scary as shit. I was on a roof once as a full grown man and had to step down onto a ladder and turn my body, and if I do it wrong I die. I really had to psych myself up. You have to coordinate 2 hands and 2 feet and if for some reason you mix them up and slip then it could be brown bread.
You probably shouldn't watch these Russian maniacsThere would totally be a point where I glanced down for a second and it would fucking paralyze me and I'd just be stuck clinging to a ladder until I fell.

Dibnah was a legend. Didn't he build a working coal mine in his back yard?I love this fella. His broad Lancashire accent and no nonsense man of toil attitude has always fascinated me. He was the last of the old ways that are now truly gone. Some of the footage of him is truly astonishing.
