Calories are calories. If you’re at 1,000 calories a day, you WILL lose weight. Keto is pretty good about cutting calories while keeping you feeling less hungry, because carbs don’t satiate like fat and protein do. I dropped about 20 pounds doing keto and weightlifting before. So, the calorie deficit is the most important thing, but you’ll feel less hungry if you eat more fat and protein.

Everyone is different. Go with the diet that works for you.

In my experience, keto is better than regular low-calorie in some ways.
Positives: Never hungry, don't have to think about what to eat, never feel weak, you generally feel "cleaner" as carbs slow you down, it's cheaper than regular eating generally (though maybe not with the price of eggs now), 10-25% more weight loss compared to the same caloric intake with carbs over several weeks. I'm a faggot nerd and kept track with excel sheets and shit.
Negatives: I'm much more irritable, having to cook all the time is a pain in the ass, keto flu for the first few days to a week is bad, I basically never shit anymore, carbs become porn on sight (it's a tough one man, genuinely)

I sit on my ass and do nothing and lose about 2lb+/week. I'm 6'2" and about 190. ANYONE CAN DO IT

It's just physics. You can lose weight eating anything if you have a caloric deficit, it's honestly easy to lose weight.
https://www.cnn.com/2010/HEALTH/11/08/twinkie.diet.professor/index.html
Sure, but then you wind up skinny fat if you're eating shitty food while maintaining calories. You might as well tell someone, "hey, just don't eat." If you're deficient in protein and fat, you're malnourished. This is why even good looking women hit the wall around 30, it's because they'd eat like shit but count calories or just eat less, which you can get away with when you're young.

I'm not saying anyone has to be a strict carnivore or to eliminate carbs completely; I maintain a certain diet just so I can eat like shit (pizza, pasta, the occasional ice cream) and get away with it. If you have a physical job or you walk to work, you may not even have to use the gym if you eat properly.

People should look up Vince Gironda, who advocated for a high protein diet back in the 1950s and supposedly was against steroid use. He had a bunch of different diets; the one that sounds best to me (from memory) was red meat, feta cheese and eggs.

"Gironda famously said bodybuilding was mainly about nutrition, and that if you don’t nail that down first, the rest is moot. He advocated eating a moderate amount of protein in the form of steak, eggs, and protein powder; high fat from such things as unpasteurized heavy cream or half-and-half; and the rest coming from raw vegetables, nuts and seasonal fruits. He was an early supporter of the low-carb diet and used many supplements including amino acids, digestive enzymes and vitamin C. He also advocated eating free-range eggs and raw cream because he said they worked like steroids, although he was strongly opposed to actual steroid use."

Yes, keto works. Don't calorie count, it's a waste of time. You really think 1000 calories of cookies are the same as 1000 calories of eggs?

I recommend the carnivore lifestyle. Steak, bacon, butter, eggs, no baked potato - ANYONE CAN DO IT!!
This is what we do. I'm stricter than my husband though. I was keto for a while but there were too many temptations to experiment with lame stuff like sugar alternative 'keto treats'. The natural fats in steak and butter curbed that temptation for me. Don't forget salt too. It's your friend. No pepper or sauces though (nothing from plants except for coffee).

Edit: Watching these videos keep you inspired: https://www.youtube.com/c/Revero/videos and https://www.youtube.com/@anthonychaffeemd

I hate keto treats. It's like, nigger, just eat some bacon. Use cream in your coffee instead of milk. Why buy a gimmick.

I still use pepper, but I use white pepper because it's lower in oxalate, which is toxic stuff.

Yeah. To clarify, I'm not saying you should just eat whatever you want, but keep it at a certain caloric level and everything is great. Perhaps if you just want to drop weight quick and if you are obese, but the quality is very important and it's vital to find a healthy diet that is going to be sustainable long term. It's definitely complex. Nutrition is one of those things that is a can of worms and if you dig into it the science is sketchy and has a long history of changing, but I lean towards what you are saying. Whole foods, the less processed the better, don't overdo things like sugar, no-brainer shit like drink water instead of soda and keep your portions reasonable unless you're like an athlete.

Cutting sugar out completely is like, 85% of the solution. I read a study recently that said that diet drinks with no sugar still spike your insulin like crazy, which means that your metabolism comes to a halt and you can't shed body fat for the rest of the day. I'm at the point where I'll have a can of Coke or Dr. Pepper once a month, maybe.

Yeah, I hear ya. I think a lot of people would be surprised if they just dumped soda and other sugary drinks they would be a lot healthier for it. I know we have brothermen from all over here, but here in America there are people that just live off that shit and stuff like fast food. We have some unhealthy motherfuckers that are perpetually #ruizing. I try to only have it as a treat on occasion with certain meals, otherwise its mostly water, coffee, tea things like that.

I'm not sure if it's all it's cracked up to be, but I like the intermittent fasting. I will sometimes skip breakfast and wait a good 5 or 6 hours before eating and if I get in the habit I will feel good. Maybe it's a placebo but I feel like there is some added clarity at times. There are times when I will only eat once or twice a day.

It's the easiest, fastest way to lose weight. Only problem is you need to stay in ketosis the entire time. One cheat meal and you have to wait another 4 days to get back into ketosis. I did it when I was in college and lose a shit ton of weight very fast eating primarily eggs/salads + meat/veggies. Calorie counting not necessary and you will never be hungry. It's very difficult for most people to do because there is no cheating allowed and if you have someone cooking for you or giving you food, they are going to be annoyed that you are turning away food that they made for you.

I found that eating a bunch of steak around 5 PM had me not eating anything until the next day at the same time. I felt good.

I first got into keto at 2017 and got the piss strips and everything, and I remained in ketosis if I had a pizza or whatever on Saturday. I was quite strict with it, however.
