This game came out of nowhere. Helldivers 1 was a decent twin sticks overhead shooter on PS3 and the premise was pretty cool but it was one of those indie games nobody really cares about. They clearly put a bit more budget into the sequel in Helldivers 2 and made it third person but kept a lot of the same gameplay mechanics like calling in strikes, weapons etc. It's pretty sick. It's like Starship Troppers mixed with Terminator with some crazy ass action that can be played solo or multiplayer with friends. It doesn't have a story or anything, although it has lore, but the gameplay is fun as hell and it's only $40 on PS5 and Steam. It's a pretty good time and it has a battlepass but they call them 'warbonds'. There's a free one that is pretty lengthy and there is also a paid one where you can earn some cool cosmetics and different weapons. The gameplay loop is do missions, kill shit, earn xp and these tokens that you can use to upgrade your character, your ship. You upgrade your ship to get different call downs which they call 'stratagems'. It's a pretty neat mechanic where in the moment you have to hold L1 and put in a sequence of codes to call in whatever you want, so you have to sort up clutch up in the moment which makes for more intense action moments. You can call in bomb strikes, napalm, nukes, big weapons, turrets, drones, shields, the list goes on. They even teased a huge mech that you can summon like Titanfall to use against the enemies. I bought it on PS5 and Steam so if anyone wants to play hit me up. Here's a video to show off what its like.

It's been a huge success so far and they've already announced that they will have brand new warbonds to work on every month, new weapons, armor, stratagems (call ins from your ship) and new enemy types. Right now there's bugs and terminator robots.

Saw it cracked earlier, how's the SP? Looks fun but more-so if you're playing with people

This game is pfg although it’s annoying playing with dumb randoms who don’t talk and shitheads who join right at the end just to take credit

TLDR it's good but I'm too old and bitter for shit like this and it pisses me off in minor ways so naturally the whole thing's a catastrophe

I got it because even my most game skeptical mates told me to and I'll admit that if you're in the mood for something arcadey and fun and have a few people you know to play it with, it's a PFG experience. The tongue in cheek colonizer aesthetic stuff is kind of annoying and it's trying way too hard to be cute but by the standard of multiplayer PvE stuff I've played it's pretty slick and puts a good emphasis on teamwork and strategy.

With that said I've only played it for a night bc people were online and I've just not been in the mood for it since. I'm not playing this shit with a bunch of randos and I don't think I'll play it alone either. it can get exhausting enough if you're just starting with no power ups and you're with some high level cunt on a mission you're not ready for without some Persian fucker screaming at the aliens to get raped. Also if you're a mouse and keys person and hate controllers you are shit outta luck because half the power ups (stratagems) need a shoulder button to access and there's no keybinding around it or playing without it past a certain point.

I can't slate it, but it'd be sad if we go the whole of 2024 without something better.

I play m+kb because I’m not a faggot and I’ve never had any problem with anything. What is it that you can’t use?

I find it really hard to call in a strategem and run at the same time which is something you eventually have to do once it gets busy. If I'm Using WSAD and have to use the up/down left/right keys I'm taking a hand off the mouse to call it in. Alternatively, keybinding the shoulder button to my mouse means not running about. Like i said, i've played one night of it so I haven't tested out a decent way to do it, it's probably I'm just a retard. I only use controllers if it's absolutely essential and most people told me not to even try m+kb

M+kb 4 life, nigga. Fuck those controller using zoomer faggots.

And yeah, you have to stop for 1 second or so to call a stratagem. No huge deal. I imagine that will change at some point or you could probably make macros to do it if you felt like it.

It installs a root kit. It's already fucked up a lot of people's computers.
