Got breakfast by myself the other day.

Two eggs over medium. Bacon crispy. Potatoes crispy. Whole wheat toast dry. You dip the toast in the egg yolks.

Cup of coffee and a water to chase. No cream or sugar, just straight up.

back in college my roommate and I had just broken up with our cunt girlfriends on the same day, literally for the bit,
that weekend we decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner at a steakhouse,
I made reservations for sunday night, figuring it would be families and stuff.
that sunday, 2009 i think, happened to fall on valentines day.
This was a college town in the deep south, so as we shared a booth and cocktails and appetizers, we looked like homosexuals surrounded by all the couples.
we sat in awkward silence as we got really stoned before and became aware of the implication...
the road head on the way home was the cherry on top

I like going to a diner on a Saturday or Sunday morning...or, at least a bar with normal breakfast foods for brunch that doesn't have much of a crowd. It's a shame good diners are hard to find.

I'll eat by myself at a fast food place or rarely have breakfast at a diner alone. I still feel weird and self conscious about it but no one gives a shit. I'd never go to like a legit restaurant and eat a meal by myself though. If I did, I'd make myself cry the whole time and spill a drink and have a meltdown about what a clumsy idiot I am just to make the server super uncomfortable. At the end I'd ask if they wanted to hang out when their shift is over.

I just remembered Snuffelufaggot. He was old guy with a constant runny nose who would sit in my local McDonald's all day long reading the paper and drinking coffee back before they had decent coffee and it was famously shitty. We always speculated on what his home life was like.
