He’s trying to make it so that if your parents are illegals then you don’t get auto citizenship even if you’re born here. Which I think is how it works in a lot of places.

Birthright citizenship is where your illegal parents can jump the border, pop you out and you gain citizenship due to being born within the united states. They can jump the border at 8 months and 29 days, have the kid the day after and that kid becomes a citizen.

I think that all permanent US residents should have to pass a civics exam for full citizenship and the perks that come with. Nothing extreme, something along the lines of a driver's license test.
