The Alamo is gay as fuck and San Antonio is a shit hole full of big ole womenanyone who doesn't like the alamo is unamerican and a flaming faggot
The funniest part about the Alamo is that there's a literal huge faggot bar (3 stories) a stones throw away from it and the bar is considered a landmark- so it's not going anywhere.
Doesn't help that they built shitty tourist traps (Ripley's Believe it or Not/Wax Museum) a 100 feet away. It's small and out of place relative to what they built around it.San Antonio is the Spanish equivalent of Reading, Pennsylvania and the Alamo is the most overrated tourist destination in America.
Cool history behind it but just remarkably underwhelming to visit.
I've been to the Alamo too, Its corny how they made paper mache molds around the air ducts to simulate what it "would" look like so they can have A/C in the jointI've been to the Alamo, they already have a movie theater.
Texans need to first come to grips with the fact Davy Crockett didn't really fall defending the 18lb canon along the groundworks, swinging his Kentucky long-rifle like Thor's battle axe. His body wasn't really found atop a mound of 50 dead Mexicans.
He took shelter in the chapel when he knew the game was over and then tried to negotiate his release after being found, telling them he was a former congressman and that President Jackson would pay for his release. The Mexicans knew who he was via tall tales of the frontier, but Santa Ana didn't give a shit and killed him anyway, thinking it would send a message. (In retrospect, this did backfire, as it galvanized Houston's army and they used it as a rallying cry).
I lived in Lancaster, PA for a couple years and once drove to Reading just to check it out. It seemed like something out of nightmare. I couldn't imagine living there and felt sorry for all the people that did. Same thing with York, PA. PA has cool gun laws and nice countryside and nature, but man is it full of little shit hole cities.San Antonio is the Spanish equivalent of Reading, Pennsylvania and the Alamo is the most overrated tourist destination in America.
Cool history behind it but just remarkably underwhelming to visit.
I remember that too. it wasnt even across the street from the surrounding block, it was directly across the entrance. The last time I was at the Alamo, there was a goddamned Fuddruckers across the street
There was a wax museum next to it tooI remember that too. Not only was it across the street from the surrounding block, it was directly across the entrance...

I can't remember, but even as a shithead college kid I thought it was tacky as fuck. The Alamo itself was pretty neatWas it Ripley's?
