Pretty much. I think Kurt is probably the better actor out of the two but it's undeniable that Mel's films had a bigger impact both financially and culturally. The Mad Max and Lethal Weapon franchises were incredibly influential to the point where they laid the template for their respective genres and established tropes that still last to this day. Kurt's John Carpenter movies are widely loved and respected too but in a more subdued, cult kinda way.
