Where we at with The Woman?

Dan doesn’t have a penis. I. Do.
I think that Jack Ketchum is one of the great horror writers of any generation.
Unlike Bierce, Lovecraft and King, he never crossed into the supernatural, preferring to explore questions like;
What would I do if some young punks killed my dog?
How would I adjust to the neighborhood block mother declaring open season on a teenage girl?
Why would I go camping?
If my son is a potential serial killer, would I kill him?
What was in the box?

The novella is okay, but I think the film adaptation of The Woman is the most accurate realization of what makes Ketchum horrifying; fucked up shit that occurs in broad daylight.
I think it is a masterpiece disguised as a Lifetime movie.

Uncle Floyd

Nice try, Floyd.
Hunh. Just finished The Woman. Apparently it's a sequel and has a sequel. Might watch the first movie ("Offspring"), but the third ("Darlin'") looks like trash.

You should probably skip those. Offspring explains how a person like "The Woman" came to live in the woods and whatnot, but it's not worth the 90 minutes.
