I'm like you - I'm choosing to laugh at the insanity because honestly, the story is otherwise completely depressing. His own son. And I'm a bastard because I never considered the mother, but I can't begin to comprehend what that does to a person's mental health over time.

It's like Chris Benoit. Always respected his in ring ability, loved Nancy as Woman, and then him doing that to her and his own damned kid... I've made jokes to a chosen few about him, just because I feel like shit for ever liking the guy, and that's my way to cope.

My wife's childhood friend lost a kid in a fire, she never recovered. She's now some super religious loon who makes these affirmation videos in her car. I mean i sympathize, I can't imagine living with that kind of guilt. His grandpa was watching him and he fell asleep with a lit cigarette

I think Chris deserves a pass. He was apparently advised very early on in his career to not do the flying head butt. He did it anyway, and as a result went through many concussions.

His best friend/rumored lover Eddie Guerrero dies suddenly.

Meanwhile his brain is turning to mush.

I don't think Benoit had any clue what he was truly doing. I think without the concussions, he'd still be around today.

Harley Race infamously said that if he had his way, he'd have never created the move.

The old territory days of the American wrestling industry are fascinating. I can't watch the shit anymore - World of Sport tried to make a comeback in England, can't remember if it lasted or not - but it's great to read about. People were nuts, insanely tough, or both.
