Safe to assume he was actually bartending at the place it was shot at and they just ended up needed an extra for the scene.
To my great shame and despite being a KISS disliker, I enjoy that film and have seen it more than once. It's mostly just because the non-KISS parts of the soundtrack are boss, I adore Natasha Lyonne, and at the time it came out I fancied Sam Huntington (he's older than I am and I was young at the time)
I do realise it's a stupid, puerile, low-rent and bad movie, though. Ron Jeremy plays the strip club DJ in it, just to augment the sleaze.

Jesus fucking Christ. All these years I thought the drummer kid was Paul Dano. In fact, everything this Sam Huntington guy has been in I thought it was Paul Dano.

That is a weird mix-up. Paul Dano is quality and his vibe is much darker, edgier and more erratic than Sam's, bless him. Jungle2Jungle is one of the best Disney live actions and I won't hear another bad word put. Funny you thought Dano was in rubbish like Rock City though. Or Grace & Frankie lol.
My favourite Dano film is Light And The Sufferer, his first major credit I believe. Barely anyone's seen it or heard of it, and technically it is gritty indie New York look-what-we-can-do-with-early-CGI wank, but it's also very creative, raw and heartbreaking. Lovely, eerie soundtrack as well. Based on a short story that wasn't as good. I lost the DVD copy I had years ago, and have been kicking myself ever since cos it's hard to find now.
