It's not horror but the Korean flick I Saw the Devil bothered me more than anything has in a while.

Supposedly all the animals killed were going to be slaughtered as food anyway so they just filmed it for the movie. It could be a lie, but movie producers are generally known for being very honest people.

re the turtle scene - a 'native' person once explained to me they basically dismember turtles while they're alive due to toxins released into their bodies, they said if you just kill them straight you can't eat the meat, this could be 'native' bullshit but the film kind of follows that approach (I think they hack its head off).

In one of the commentaries an actor relates how the local natives praised him being able to blow load after load because they didn't understand he was just faking sex take after take - maybe native folk aren't the best source of truth.
