I once went into -200 on my debit card aged about 18 when my mother used my cheque book. I didn't even know they could get into minus but it somehow did. I found out the hard way when I was out getting drunk

Not just bank account, but I was more than 45 grand in the hole at one point after uni.
That's why I'm a proud community college graduate.

I just ended up 45 hundred deep. And that's just from dumb credit card debt. I could've ended up graduating with no debt.

When I was a teenager and maybe into my twenties I dipped into the negative a few times. I still have an existing 1k overdraft protection on my main checking account that I activated during those days but it never gets used. College loans paid off. Being DINK w/ two six-figure salaries, and a couple that doesn't splurge out on fancy shit we don't have any money issues. I've got a hobby/side business that I use to cover all of my toys and impulse purchases the wife would get pissy about. Sorry, at this point, I'm just bragging. The fact is I come from days of check-to-check scrounging and frivolous spending but it's no longer an issue. My mom is a hoarder, I also have addiction issues that trend towards careless spending if I don't keep shit in check... Shit levels out as I get older and build a somewhat decent career.

I live in a high-cost area and shit could go south fast if I wasn't married with strong (in-law)family support. I don't judge those that get in the negative at times unless you are an autistic gothic bad boy who huffs air-duster and drinks away SSI income.

I thought the bank closed your account if it went negative. I learn so much from this site.
