What can Patrick expect in county?

This goes out to our formerly incarcerated, now rehabilitated brothermen. What does county look like? How’s the food? Is it air conditioned? How much should he have in commissary? How long is rec time?

I understand every county is different but please share what you know so Patrick has an idea of what is in front of him.

It's pleasant. Quaint even.
How’s the food?
Delicious.
Is it air conditioned?
Yes.
How much should he have in commissary?
They give you whatever you want for free.
How long is rec time?
As long as you want.

It's going to be fine.

It depends- I'm not sure of Milwaukee's setup, but more than a few county jails have annexes or dorm/barracks type living situations combined with the traditional two man to a cell setup.

They're generally clean as inmates can be neat freaks and you better have your hygiene on point or it can be a problem. Patrick will have to learn to flush everything when he's on the shitter and he drops a turd, pisses, or farts- no one wants to hear that shit (literally).

It should be air-conditioned. It actually might even be cold as fuck and borderline uncomfortable. It's a good way to keep inmates in line if they're too cold to do anything.

I've been in a place that had close to unlimited commissary- it all depended on how much money you had and you could order whatever the fuck you wanted 2x a week. There are also places with a $50 - $100 a week spending limit, because they don't want you storing a bunch of shit and also being the leader of the black market. A lot of things can be bought with commissary goods-- from sex to drugs (even in county).

Rec-time should be whenever they wake up until before lunch and then again before dinner and again before lights out (this all depends on the setup). In a dorm setting, the rec court will traditionally be inside and connected to the dorm. There's room for basketball and for guys who just want to walk around in circles. In the two man cell setup- they should get more than an hour or so a day as long as they don't fuck up and as long as there are no fights. A fight can basically cost everyone their privileges for atleast a day-- multiple fights may result in loss of privileges for a few weeks (no TV, no phone, and no rec).

Luckily, Patrick is used to hanging out only with white people. Because that's who he is going to have to eat with, do the cleaning chores, and generally socialize with. In my experiences (TX and FL), even county jails are segregated to a large degree. It's usually okay to play cards, watch TV, or use the rec room with other races.

Patrick will learn real quickly that his sense of humor sucks abd sarcasm doesn't work well in jail-- either does does having oppositional defiant disorder (unless you know how to fight). They will make you get in line real quick- both the guards and the inmates.

As for food. It's usually not good and it's not a lot. The meal times can also be funky. Some places have breakfast at 3am and some at 6am-7am. With lunch at 11am and dinner at 4pm. Patrick is going to learn how to fast if he doesn't have any commissary- if he were smart abd he knew he was going to go to jail, he should bring atkeast $100 with him and when he's booked in, they'll put it on his books and any money he doesn't use will be put on a debit card when he is released (some places may just cut a check).

Any other questions?

Edit: I forgot to add that there are more rules in jail that are enforced by inmates than there are rules on the outside. It's kind of a paradox- a lot of dudes in jail cannot follow the simple laws of society, however when they're locked up, they're all about rules and etiquette--- Patrick is a quivering pussy in real life, so I assume he would go to jail and know when to keep his mouth shut. If he doesn't, he could be in for a long couple of days (especially if he were dumb enough to talk about politics-- a decent amount of guys in jail, actually like Trump or they atleast appreciate the circus).

I dont think having ODD works well in jail even if your the toughest bastard in the world. I imagine it'll just get you skullfucked harder by a CO.
