In my country we have a fella who married into a billionaire family and a knight of the realm as our realistic choices like it's 1920.

I don't vote. The way we vote here means you only vote for the local seat and it's not changed in 150 years so I can't be bothered.
I assume you’re British? Reading about their politics made me realize it’s retarded. You guys don’t vote for your PMs? And the PMs decide WHEN to hold elections, it’s not just a set date? Seems retarded

They did try bringing in fixed terms but basically the way the parties are set up they vote for their leaders and if a party loses confidence in the PM then an election will happen. It's been absolutely chaotic in the last 8 years but usually it kinda worked.

We technically don't vote for the PM. Technically we vote for the local area candidates but in reality we are voting for the leader of the party or the party itself.

I guess I sort of understand that because its slightly similar to our system. Correct me if i’m wrong on this but:

You vote for your local leader. The local leader becomes a member of parliament. That member of parliament, with their majority, votes for their PM.

Here we vote for “our candidate” (we’re actually voting for delegates). The delegates, with their majority, vote for the candidate the people chose.

The only real difference is that the electors we chose don’t go to Congress

i get legit Belly laughs when RFK Jr. has to start talking for extended amount of times
I saw him on matt and shane's secret podcast, and him going into full Israel defense mode because of a basic question was so funny. Shane and Matt were too star stuck to call him on his shit, but it was funny none the less.

it really is, but what would your genius do about it?

I'm being antagonistic, sorry.... I've had some issues this week (nobody cares, & they shouldn't, that's fair)

More or less right. However the leader of a party is usually in place well before elections.

I kinda like the no fixed terms element. If someone does such a shit job is involved in a scandal or fucks something up we don't have to wait 5 years to have a say in getting rid of them. The party in power got rid of Boris Johnson and then 40 something days of the next leader got rid of her as she was a disaster. And all political activity was suspended for 14 days of that 40 as the Queen died as soon as she got in.
