I enjoy Civ on PC and over COVID started looking into board games and saw some really cool ideas there. So every once in a while I check out board games that might be interesting.

I know Patrick goes to one of those board game conventions and it's so seriously losers that go there. I read some board game forums and they have problems with games like Settlers of Catan because it depicts COLONIALISM guyz!

Shadows of Brimstone is good. It’s the old west with a supernatural twist. Their first black character is just a John Henry rail worker. Everyone else is white except the Bandito and Indian characters.

Theres a steam version, that is the exact copy of the board game, it's great and I play it frequently with friends

Friend of mine is one of the Apatow pack and loaned me his or her (not telling, Jackie) Academy Awards advanced screener dvd of it. Somebody was riding giant dogs or wolves across the grasslands and the sound they used was the sound of hoof falls on hard pack, not the sound of paws on grass. It was so fucking lazy.

And then Gandalf opens some door into a dark hole, I think there were dwarves in there, and the camera switched angles so it's looking up out of the dark place at Gandalf, and the crew had illuminated his face from the front, so the capefag audience could see him, except it looked bizarre because there was no light coming out of the dark place. I'm not even a movie dork, that's how bad that shit was.

I immediately ejected the dvd and threw it across the room, where it fell behind a piece of heavy wooden furniture and I never gave it back. Fuck voting on the academy awards, they're surely rigged anyway
