Watched Leave The World Behind (2023) on the Netflix

I enjoy those apocalypse movies and this one watched pretty good. Basically shit goes down in New York and a family (Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke) who are on vacation with their kids out on Long Island try to figure out what's happening and how to survive it. Ending was pretty gay.

Anyone else watch this movie and notice that the Obamas were executive producers on this? The movie ends with one of the characters happening upon a bunker in some rich persons house while a nuclear bomb goes off in the city. Meanwhile there's been a lot of talk on twitter about billionaires building bunkers. Are they fawkin getting us ready for something?

Apparently the book had absolutely nothing that indicates what it couldve been and leaves it to your imagination, while the movie just added that it was islamic terrorism.

There’s another major movie coming soon about a civil war in the US, the poster is a sniper on the Statue of Liberty.

The one you watched is also about a civil war. They are obviously setting up Trump and his voters to be “insurrectionists” - I used to think it was priming us for events to come, it happens constantly in history. Evil needs to declare itself so it can act.

I think I’m wrong though, evil needs to manifest their plans by making us think about it, worry about it, preach about it. We are sovereign spirits and we need to speak things into existence, that’s what I think this shit is now, evil tricking us into creating evil.

I'm on my way to checking out. I'm buying property somewhere out of the way and remote enough to be overlooked. The next few years are going to be a trial and error exercise into how to grow food, not be a faggot about hunting, and in general, just be as self sufficient as possible. I read "Powerless" by Tim Washburn, a CME hit earth so a bunch of shit electronically doesn't work. Goes through some plots, ironically one of them was America defending Israel from a crazy mulsim dictator.
Anyways at one point in the book there was fighting and skirmishes to keep the city people from crossing the bridges. At the time I thought why would they do that so quickly, but it really does make sense and unfortunately in a real scenario there won't be major planning of defending against the hordes who live in our cities until they flood into places at higher rates than the illegals

Just finished watching it. Thought it was pretty good. Even though the ending was a bit cheesy, they at least explained what happened before it ended and I'm glad they didn't go with a supernatural explanation.
