If I had stage 4 cancer then I'd definitely use a 'Brompton Cocktail' which is heroin, cocaine & pure alcohol (my former breakfast), but I'd up the cocaine ratio so I could be up & annoyingly mobile til things went bang... I've had some rough times in the past & got close, but can't see any of your examples bringing me even close to an untimely offage.

A old guy I knew hung himself after his wife died and he got ill. He should have had the option of dying in a nice warm bed rather than his son discovering him swinging

I've got mixed feelings on this, it can go too far & I always question motives for these programs. Some countries are now offering euthanasia for mental health / alcoholics, at the worst time in my life I would've pressed the 'die now' button if it was in front of me... but I bounced back & glad that button wasn't there.

There's that place in Switzerland that allows foreigners to go there and get a lethal injection that's supposedly painless. I remember seeing a documentary about it a while ago. I think you have to be pretty far gone though to qualify though- like almost unable to move and have no hope of recovering. Like you said it's fucked up that animals get better treatment when it comes to being put down with some dignity.

I've known a couple people with ALS and it seems to work fast enough, but it sure seems like hell. I don't get how Jason Becker has had it for like 30 years. One person I know had it for maybe 2 years and the other was dead in 2 months of finding out.
