Turntable talk

I'm in the market for a turntable and thinking of buying the Fluance RT85 (link: https://www.fluance.com/rt85w-reference-high-fidelity-vinyl-turntable-natural-walnut). I hear good things about it and the Ortofon 2M blue stylus. It is said to highlight 'bright' sounds but I'm also looking for deep bass to get covered. The Nagaoka cartridge is said to be warmer and bassy but then I'd probably lose the brightness I'm seeking too. It's a tough one, man.

Do you have any turntable, preamp, and speaker advice? My budget is about $1K all in. I don't foresee having such a huge vinyl collection to warrant a more expensive rig.

I'm not looking for a bluetooth speaker setup. I'm open to a turntable with a built-in preamp but I'd rather buy separate (for future upgrading if I so choose).

I use. McIntosh amps and pre amps. For turntables I use older pioneer pl models which are great for under 200. You can get pioneer receivers for under 400 that work great.

They're all great! Except suitcases/built in speaker ones. Made the mistake of getting one of those once and it was eating my 80 gram records. Got my toddler a suitcase one for his birthday last year because he was so enthralled by my record player, wanting to play with it and had outgrown his Fisher Price one so he could mess around with this pile of free records I got that I don't care about. That's about all a suitcase style one is good for unless you wanna roll the dice on fucking up your records.
