When your entire being is a charade, from your appearance down to every aspect of your "personality", it's probably not too big of a thing to fake an American accent the whole time too. Other way around, dumbass. On the whole they have a good grasp on the language but have awful accents because they rarely actually speak English.
Alan's got a decent American accent because Scandinavian languages are akin to what English sounded like in 500 AD so they don't struggle with pronunciation in the same way other Eurofags do. He's also clearly had a lot of practice, being a mentally ill self-absorbed camwhore and all.
