I wanted a chance to catch some flicks with some of you cats. (Can we get a Crying Kevin Smith sprite fudda forums please?)

Here's the plan. Every 2 weeks we're going to announce some dopey movie that is at least readily available. In this very thread, you idiots can vote on what movies get added to the pool that we pick from every 2 weeks. In those 2 weeks you have your window to watch the movie and share your idiotic who gives a shit opinions about the movie. Maybe some of you will notice things the other people didn't notice.

Please note, this club is not for you or myself to show us your great taste in movies or unironically try to turn us on to serious movies. This is also not some kind of Red letter Media copycat where we just bag on weak ass movies like Mystery Science Theater. I think there is a lot of oil in the underground passages of this forum, and unfortunately nobody is shootin at some food, so they never find the oil, and move themselves to Beverly Hills. We're just gonna have some fun here. Don't turn the movie off in the first 5 minutes because it sucks. The whole point is to watch it all and then we can better understand what people are yapping about in this thread.

A chance for you to blow off some steam, perhaps look forward to something new every 2 weeks, where you can relate to another human for a change. So what do you say?

I have recently ranted about happening upon this terrible hunk of shit 2 or 3 years ago. I was in disbelief how bad this was, even for a "straight to internet" movie. It's one of those movies where you have to verbally say shit like "Oh fuck off" or "Shut the fuck up faggot" to the television screen. The main character is an infuriating soy beta cunt who discovers Reddit. And it then becomes the most Reddit movie I have ever heard of. For the benefit of those who missed my brilliant and lengthy review at the time, I will conduct an encore presentation at this time. Next month we will focus on a different flick for you cats to come and chop it up, rap with us, like solid dudes, just talking about film and cinema and whatnot. [Crying Kevin Smith]

A good shitter movie I watched a while back that stuck with me was Coherence. I can imagine most people hating it, but I digged the hell out of it and it still makes my fuckin hair stand up when I think about certain scenes. Its reddit soyshit, but I dont care. I love it. It was such a fun way to do dimensional/timeline shifts in a movie, without breaking your suspended disbelief.

I'm glad to say that it irritated the wife as much as it did me. What a load of horseshit. It almost redeemed itself but then it had to go and have a happy ending.

Please tell me some of the things she hated.

The underlying ideas are bunk. Simulation theory is for atheists who can't deny the intentionality of the universe but they don't want to ascribe it to a supernatural being so they try to skirt the issue by claiming that this is all the result of some technological artefact that we exist inside of.

Where did that come from? How is this different in substance than saying that God created the universe? Shut up and drink your soy beverage, citizen. You can stop thinking and rest easy knowing that it's been your scientific betters all along.

How would running simulated code inside of the simulation crash the thing? The computer he killed that scientist to gain access to wasn't running the simulation like you said in your review - it was just part of the simulation. By rights it shouldn't have done a damn thing because it was just pretending to be a computer just like the main character was just pretending to be a man.

And why should I care what happens to a bunch of code? Why do people seem to have some kind of special power or value in this simulation? Nice making me care, stupit.

When he gets his kid back he says something like "The simulation let me have my daughter back so I'd stop". So the sysop saw what he was doing, understood why he was doing it and instead of pausing the simulation and just erasing this asshole who's trying to destroy reality they give him the kid back. Which doesn't work because his wife goes nuts and is probably going to kill the kid eventually so he just goes and breaks things regardless.

So he crashes the simulation, sysop loads a restore point and just leaves him in there. What happens when his wife dies? Or his daughter doesn't get into Harvard? Or he goes bald? He'll probably do the same fucking thing.

Also "this nigga thinks he's Morgan Freeman." got my ribs good. Fucking guy went from "I don't know what you're talking about" to "Let me show you to the quantum computer" in about three scenes.

Stupid movie but fun to hate. Thanks for the recommendation.
