The real reason that Norton hired Kenny was to bully celebrities into a photo. You get Kenny to harass some D-level actress and browbeat her into posing for a photograph with a wormy subhuman monster. Kenny's biggest training for his work with Norton was not memorizing food orders or booking travel and hotel. It was crouching down to Norton's height and working his camera to take photos.
Norton went through a period where he would hire random people from the office to shadow him during events or premiers. So guys like Roland or Erock would follow him around with a camera and try to get photographs. Or he would beg someone like Florentine or Opie who was at the event with him to work the camera. You could argue it was cheaper than hiring a professional photographer but Norton also had a printing company on standby and paid them a subscription service. So it was not a money thing.

Florentine used Kenny for some of his meet the creeps skits that were pretty funny since Kenny is such a big dope he could really make everyone uncomfortable. I remember one they Kenny try to have a dry cleaner clean his gerbil because it had shit on it from being up someone’s ass.
