Fatrick deliberately chose current-day restaurant chains, sports teams, consumer products, even celebrities and politicians, so the reader becomes the protagonist in a world totally strange yet intimately known to him. This is to fully immerse the reader into the story.

I think his last freelance piece was on how Covid was bad for local businesses because the 2020 DNC was supposed to be in Milwaukee and didn’t happen. Seriously, his piece was “Covid hurt businesses because people can’t go to bars / restaurants / etc since the are shut down” No shit, Piggy - everyone knows that.
