I know it's not NYC, but if you ever look into that Long Island Serial Killer case, holy s is that police department corrupt. The police chief that was undermining the investigation had been caught smoking crack with his prostitute girlfriend (although he didn't in trouble for it) and lost a case brought up by a junkie he had beaten after the guy stole a duffle bag out of his car. The junkie claimed the bag had S&M snuff films and I think CP in it too. He later got busted trying to blow dudes in a public park last year. A lot of interesting stuff involved with that case. Whole place is a corrupt cesspool.
