Reminder that Joe liked this show so much he bought a jacket from it

I watched the whole of Sons of Anarchy because I wanted to understand why people liked it so much.

It was like the Sopranos but without any realistic drama (not that the Sopranos was fantastic at that either but at least I felt I could relate to it). Imagine thinking that someone stealing a baby and bringing it to another country is relatable to anyone in America. That whole show was stupid and the violence was clipped because FX.

I laugh at them because they're all the same.

I watched up until the point where they revealed the main guys ex girlfriend left the biker life and became a doctor lol okay..
Not just a doctor, but a renowned pediatric surgeon. I loved it when he'd visit her at the hospital all decked out in his biker gear, with a huge hunting knife on his belt. SOA was one of the most unintentionally funny shows ever. Every episode was filled with belly laughs.

And the last episode was easily one of the dumbest things ever aired. It was less plausible than Gilligan's Island or Hogan's Heroes, and nowhere near as good. There's a scene near the end where a shitty-looking CGI crow flies overhead. OK, fine. But then there's another one, then another, then more. It was like that Sutter clown thought his viewers would miss the heavy symbolism, so he decided to completely bash them over the head with it. And it's just hilarious. The fact that these people apparently filmed that shit with a straight face makes it even funnier. There was no better show to hate watch.

I was in a band around the time that SOA was on air and we had a gig at a local biker clubhouse. When I went inside to refresh my drink, I happened to notice that they had a SOA tshirt framed with the logo on their wall. While I watched the show because at the time, because it was moderately interesting to me, I couldn't help but think it was a fag move to frame that hokey Hollywood BS on the clubhouse of a club that wanted to be taken seriously.

BTW, the Pagans ain't nothing to fuck with and no, that wasn't the club in question here.

SOA was hilariously bad.

That's a perfect way of describing it. Utterly preposterous and contrived plots combined with po-faced writing that takes itself completely seriously and presents it all like it's the coolest thing ever. It'd be a great "so bad it's good" show if large parts of it weren't so dull and joyless.

WWAW the Alzheimer patient dad stabbing the goofy biker in the ass because he thinks he's fucking his late wife instead of the in-house caretaker?
