Quannspiracy Time! Ant's Lightning Fast Wit

Carol's Stink Blaster

Poot poot poot poot
It's already well established that Ant and Jim were gay lovers who shared trannies and child porn. We know they conspired to fake laugh at each other and no sell Opie.

So how about Ants (Sue) Lighting quick wits and being funnier than the best comedians of all time? Is it that much of a stretch to believe he and Jimmy preplanned lines?

AHBS seems too shoehorned for Jimmy to make up on the spot. Looks like you're cured

Are there any examples of his quick wit with anyone other than Jimmy? I'm not talking about occasional good lines or cracks on Vos or Colin. I'm talking millisecond genius level comebacks.

Sounds more like inorganic chemistry to me. The Big Jay Roast, those were the true comedic stylings of Anthony Cumia

This has been another edition of Quannspiracy! Stay tuned to find out who pushed Troys stupid bitch off that cliff

Opie would usually tell them what was coming up each segment. So they knew to have like Mel Gibson tape jokes in their heads. Or Kramer nigger jokes ready when that topic came up. Same with various news stories and whatnot. They usually had a break at least to prepare some jokes. But still a lot of stuff was off the cuff which is why the show had so many huge laughs and huge bombs. When someone threw in a joke out of nowhere that killed it was obvious why everyone was laughing. Also they would often not listen to news segments beforehand on purpose so that it was fresh on the air and their reactions were more natural.

Also a lot of jokes against each other were prepared. Like the comedians would joke on each other at the Cellar then repeat the same jokes on the air. Like Patrice saying "Norton is shaped like any container you pour him into" was a joke he used to do at the cellar. They would reuse old roast joke against each other the show constantly as well.

Pretty much any show from 2005-2013 is Anthony at his peak. Almost any multi-hour compilation will have an example of someone being quick with a joke or attack. And many of them will be Anthony. If you listened to the show during its entire XM run until Anthony's firing he was usually entertaining.

At some point in his life Anthony stopped being funny. Maybe without Opie he really cannot be funny without someone setting him up. But something in his life changed where he literally lost his ability to be funny and entertaining.

If you go watch videos taken in the studio you'll notice Anthony frequently looking down at a netbook on the desk in front of him. He brought a laptop every day and plugged it directly into the board so he could broadcast to Paltalk with basically no delay. He had a chatroom filled with people feeding him lines and would pretty much only give credit to names he automatically recognized like Steve from Bayshore or Kevin from Connecticut.

Losing Paltalk as a crutch is why he stopped being so quick/funny after Sirius. He tried broadcasting on Paltalk at first when he started doing his own show but unlike the free O&A stream he'd do when he was on Sirius, you had to have a subscription to his dumb podcast to listen live through the Paltalk chatroom he set up when he went on his own.

After awhile, you could tell when they were Paltalk lines, because he delivered them differently. When it's a Tony original, he couldn't wait to fire it out confidently. Paltalk lines would be either half-assed or he'd already be laughing after reading them. He still had plenty of good jokes of his own, though.

Quick wits can absolutely be lost. A lot of funny people can be irrevocably changed by drugs, alcohol, trauma, and be a shadow of what they were.
Ego and pride will do it too. After a while it became obvious Ant thought he could be political and not have to worry about being funny. He was always trying for the race shit, but he could also make you laugh.

It's hard to understand now just how many ballwashers Nana had back then. You look at old videos of events and meet and greets and it's amazing seeing that many people, especially looking at Opie and Anthony now. That's why he brought all those markers to Barnes and Noble, but I digress.

He didn't feel like he had to work as hard later on, and the boozing started to really ramp up, as well as bringing in whores to the studio. He got lost, you see.

The AHBD line was over rated and so were all the other lines Jimmy aggressively fake laughed at. There's almost a palpable anger at Opie hidden in those laughs.
“Yourself, I hope” is still fucking hilarious in regards to Norton saying he was filming something so nonchalantly yet cocky. Edit: I’m not doing a bit but I just remembered that was Colin. Anthony definitely made me laugh the most though.

Ant had some good lines but a lot of his jokes were recycled references. How many times can you call Vos horse-toothed before it gets old? When Jimmy had a good one it was usually more creative.
A lot of this attitude of them using recycled jokes is that our listening habits are different now. We can listen to Vos compilations straight through when in reality Vos would spend months between appearances sometimes. So the jokes seemed more fresh. Same with things like the Mel Gibson tapes compilation where if you listened live it was extreme exciting when a new tape came out but binging makes it seem tedious if you rush through the entire compilation.

Everyone once a while a Shining reference was funny. But compilations of Shining references will basically be the same handful of jokes over and over. Which are fine spread out years apart.

Jimmy just stole other insults from the Cellar Table. But you wouldn't understand how the craft works, they all bounce ideas off each other. You had to be there to get it.

What I'm saying is, nice shirt, stupid
