The protagonist is probably the epitome (reference, Dan) of every annoying female stereotype. Fucks everything up but she believes in herself even if nobody else does. She invents an axe with a rope tied to it.

The predator starts off by killing a snake hunting a rodent. A pretty mean looking snake. Then it kills a wolf which was about to eat a rabbit! Truly an unstoppable monster to be feared. Then it kills a bear hunting the girl. In case you missed the symbolism, it's all about prey. Just like the title. This is a movie for intellectuals.

Half a dozen of her tribe are slaughtered but a couple of them were mean to her so she has zero reason to care they were just dismembered.

Dozens of French guys turn up and they are comical bad white guys. Somehow they know about and are trying to find and catch the predator. They all die in about ten minutes screen time filler (90 minutes total running time without credits).

Predator seems mildly retarded.

Magical native herb of invisibility.

Girl saves the day and is hero of the tribe.

Currently sitting at 91% reviews and 89% audience on RT because of course it is.

A well crafted narrative would have been the Indian tribe and white European settlers putting aside their differences to face a foe greater than either of them could face alone. They could have even ended it on a bitter sweet note that despite this spark of cooperation, history would doom these groups to be enemies in the end.

Instead we get a 90lb Mary Souix (wah wah) who kills the same kind of alien that was able to rip apart a special forces team so jacked up on steroids that one of them could haul around a minigun like it was an AR-15.

They cant get anymore subliminal and yet more and more people are giving them the finger or checking out, so it's a losing battle for them. The Son was a great series for that too. The main character Eli was enslaved and raised by Comanche before coming back to white society and basically he's a completely ruthless killer. to the point his own son basically tries to guide his grandson to be nothing like either of them.
