People Actually Enjoyed This? Cokelogic Sucks.

I’ll somewhat set the hating aside to ask a genuine question. Did people actually think this was good animation? Why?

See I’m not a child of the 80s who thought nothing was funnier than “Where’s the beef?” I grew up on the cusp of the technology age, so I may be biased in terms of what I consider good/creative animation, and I can see how this would be one of those things where “It was new, and it was good for the time.”

But goddamn is this shit ugly.

Figured I’d also pick this gem since it’s got Norton being an amazing character actor; I’m glad he was able to overcome his alcoholism so that he could be here today to give us a look into his tortured psyche from all those months he spent drinking wine coolers.

Not only is it ugly/unimpressive animation, it would often just be the guys in studio, talking. He wouldn't even animate the situation they were talking about, it was just an animation of them talking into mics. "Cokelogic should work for fawkin' Pixar!"

It was new, he did it for free, and there wasn't much competition. Now animators can make money much easier online so you see a lot more talented people.

Yeah, it's like Adult Swim shows. Twenty years ago when there wasn't a lot like it, it was cool. After decades of the same forced "irreverent" bullshit churned out non-stop, the initial appeal is harder to explain.

And herein lies my main qualm about this horseshit.

It’s just them talking…in the studio. You have the chance to make something of it you fat fuck, think outside the box.

Couldn’t even move the arms; just the mouths and barely their heads.

I always found the animation extremely unpleasant to look at, reminds me of low quality flash games.

As others have pointed out, his animation is also very lazy and uninspired. He doesn't do anything creative with the medium which is the entire point of animating bits.

It’s just ugly and uninspired, plain and simple. And the creator is a fat turd who got an inflated sense of self-worth due to hosts who were born pre-JFK noggin’ removal having no clue what good visual content is.

And to the guy who said they were funny: They’re only as funny as the audio being played, dummy! It’s a cartoon of people talking in a studio! Frankly, I’d rather just see actual camera footage.

He was definitely going for an intentionally ugly Adult Swim thing, they brought it up many times. He would add textures to their skin to make them look gross. As Others have said, the fact he just had them sitting there with their lips moving pissed everyone off. If you just go by them saying nice things about Cokelogic you'd think everyone enjoyed them. They weren't gonna bash a fat superfan doing free work. Unless he was that bad like Ken the movie guy keeping his man tits in-check.

Again, I'm saying it went with the aesthetic of the show. Think how shitty and ugly the graphic design of the yellow on black Opie and Anthony logo is and the WOW logo. Anthony looking like a literal ghoul, The Opester like a homeless man and Jimmy in stupid sabbath t shirts.

The show was a trashy shock jock show--if the animation were beautiful it would actually detract from the content. And, no shit the clips were only as funny as the audio being played. That's how it works. The (I'm assuming obese) superfan coke logic picked good clips to animate, which made them good
