SPOILER: The first two books were such dogshit, Tor told him to scrap the trilogy and try a new genre. It too was a massive flop.

You just know he left all that shit there until someone got tired of them being in the way and threw them in the trash or took them to resell at a bookstore. I'm sure seeing that empty table 6 hours later when he left the bar made him feel really good.
