I have a buddy who jumped on dating apps after his divorce. Middle aged shlubby guy, not morbidly obese but dad bod carrying extra weight around the gut after being athletic as a younger guy. I started busting his balls when he showed me his dating profile and I saw he’d described himself as “a big guy, barrel-chested.” He looked a tad embarrassed to be called out on it but he laughed and admitted he was overweight. That’s what a normal egotistical guy would do. If he’d denied it and doubled down I would have thought he’d had a psychotic break.
