Shane was smart enough to leave compound media in the dust after joining it. He didn't even build much of a following from it (obviously). He clearly realized that CPM was a fucking dead end and left to only prove he was funny enough to sustain a large enough following that Chapelle and Louis C.K. wanted to be in his orbit.

I literally forgot he was on Compound. The key to Compound Media is it’s two things: A jumping off point or a final destination. For guys like Ant and maybe Gavin it’s the resting place of their careers. If you don’t get burned by Nana and have the smarts to leave you’re definitely smart enough to make it in comedy

Really, there's no goal. It's a hail-mary shot at cancellation again, but it's mostly just the ramblings of a kid who lost bad, and literally had to run away in fear. How have they been "redeemed in the public eye?" When these no account shit stirrers apologize for being male they don't get redeemed. They just genuflect at the altar of their social masters.
