truly has never been attractive for even one microsecond of her life, except for that hot tub scene in About SchmidtI just watched the 1978 movie “Straight Time” with Dustin Hoffman and she has a small role (one of her first movies) and it was weird to see a “young” Kathy Bates since she always seemed to be middle aged to old in movies.

Kinda looks like David Carradine
Same eyes as pat in his shirtless porch picIt should have been a male role for Kathy Bates' character, and a female for the author...that would have made it more real.
But you're right...that move is the exact vibe Patverse gives me...just an eery, repulsive creepy obsessiveness.
The protagonist was a self-insert for Stephen King like in many of his stories, so that was never gonna happen. I don't think genderswapping would've been a good idea. The protagonist being a crippled man makes his situation and psychological breaking that much more unnatural and dehumanizing and is good fodder for horror. The psycho mommying moodshifts wouldn't have worked with a male villain, and the kind of obsessive stanning over novels is something women do way more than men (or at least, back then). It had the added benefit of making the novel he's writing a hilariously bad Jane Austen knock-off which got some loffs out of me.It should have been a male role for Kathy Bates' character, and a female for the author...that would have made it more real.
The protagonist so matches Piggy's personality. Narcissistic Defiant Mid Western Rube to perfection.
She uses "Mister man" like Pat uses "Child". Weirdly the movie is about an author too.
What is stanning? Finna dab on a ho talk? The protagonist was a self-insert for Stephen King like in many of his stories, so that was never gonna happen. I also liked how King still managed to shoehorn his beloved n-word in a story that's about two white people in the middle of nowhere.
