I really like the premise and first 20mins of Life Force. The rest is in that werid subgenre of British films trying their best to look American/Hollywood.

It doesn't make the British actors speak with American accents (like Hardware 1990 or The Outfit 2022) but it tries way to hard none the less.

The veteran plain clothes cop on the gritty streets of NYC isn't a stereotype that works when it's London and they have healthcare/reasonable divorce laws. They don't even get a cool badge and gun.

3/5 Vampires in spaaaaaace.

If my memory serves me right it was written by a pair of English screenwriters and then bought by an American studio that brought in an American director (Tobe Hooper) and screenwiter (Dan O’bannon) to rewrite it so it ended up with a weird American film vibe despite being on the surface a British film.
