I liked lardy cake as a kid, and my grandparents lived in the New Forest where you get the legit one, but had it a couple of years ago and didn't enjoy it.
Spotted dick and custard is one of those much better than you'd think British puddings you mentioned. Crumbles can be good too

When I lived in Central America I had a maid come in 2-3 times a week to clean up and make me some meals. She made by far the best rice pudding Ive ever had. After moving away and losing contact with her I can relate to Principal Skinner.
