Yeah it's Bob Marley, who's the lord of northern New England. Stephen King owns the station I think.
Stephen King basically said that O&A never made anyone laugh and should not have been allowed on the air. And that he knew more about radio than they did. He spent a bunch of money, probably several million out of his own pocket, so that his wife could have some stupid pet project where she and King himself would manage a bunch of stations. And show everyone how radio is really done. But it was really just some vanity project to put his name on the stations.

Where are those stations? Three of them in........Bangor, Maine, in the middle of nowhere essentially. When they launched King's lame attempt at a radio empire for his wife he did a ton of interviews and press. Pretty much any publication that wanted a future interview for his books or movies had to do a radio based interview. Where they talked to him like he was some serious force in terrestrial radio. In every interview he trashed Opie and Anthony. He clearly was obsessed with them for some reason yet they had never trashed him on the show. No one knows why he was so upset that they were on the air as it was not like King was connected to the Mayor is Dead Prank or anything like that.

When he started his big radio empire it was so bad that they Jocktobered it once then never brought it up again. It arguably could be the worst Jocktober segment that they ever did. The jerky bit is legendarily awful and permanently douche chilling to anyone who listens to it fully. There was no chance of them revisiting this or bringing up Stephen King ever again. O&A won that radio war via Stephen King's immediately suicide upon hearing the jerky bit.

I thought it was all from that one newspaper article he wrote where he was saying enough with the shock jockery. And they were being thin skinned faggots like usual.

No it was more than that. For some reason Stephen King really wanted to be involved in radio. To the point where he cornered the market in Bangor, Maine of all places. Maybe because buying three or four stations there was cheap or he lives near there. But for whatever reason he did a round of interviews for his new radio venture. And just kept harping on O&A more than any other shock jock group for some reason.

King is from Boston, so maybe he just hated how the number one radio show of all time was a shock jock group, that said that the Boston Mayor was dead. And he was likely around for that whole ordeal and was so personally disgusted by it that it always bothered him. He never went on O&A to talk about his hatred for them. And no other radio shows ever brought up O&A to him (probably out of fear of Jocktober or an attack, as even Stern became terrified of O&A eventually).

Nah he's from Maine. That's why he bought it, it was his local rock radio station. And also the only station that really rocked.

Between O&A and PFG TV which was blowing up in Bethel, Maine and other markets east of the Hudson at the time, King’s cornball radio didn’t stand a fawkin chance.
