FYI this was not my idea, this guy thought of it first and picked some great non-woke nominations. https://twitter.com/Aristos_Revenge/status/1677010535802363919?s=20
"The Dragon Awards are currently taking nominations for various categories. Nominations end on July 28th, the nominations and winners are essentially decided by a relatively small group of people in an open voting system. Anyone can nominate/vote if they register.
The problem with this, is that there are large groups of lefties nominating their crappy tumblr tier fanfiction. Most notably the authors over at Tor Books, among others. These "people" synergistically support each other in nominating their garbage for these various awards."
We can ruin Cat Rambo's day just by voting for actual good books and media. None of my nominations are stealthygeek ballwashers or open pedophiles as far as I can tell
Heres what to do:
•Go to https://application.dragoncon.net/dc_fan_awards_nominations.php
•Check the box next to "Check to verify you want to submit nominations and register for the Dragon Awards voting process."
•Enter a valid email address, you'll receive a confirmation email
•Enter your picks and submit
•Click the confirmation link in the email you receive afterwards
Here are my nominations. Make sure to check the box saying you want to register for the voting process so that you not only get to nominate books but choose winners from the nominees later on.
My choices:
Best Scifi Novel: The Icarus Plot by Timothy Zahn
Best Fantasy Novel: Tower of Silence by Larry Correia
Best Young Adult Novel: The Frugal Wizards Handbook for Surviving Medieval England by Brand Sanderson
Best Alternative History Novel: 1637: The Transylvania Decision by Eric Flint & Robert E. Waters
Best Horror Novel: Haunted By The Past by Simon R. Green
Best Illustrated Cover: Wraithbound by Jeff Brown
Best Comic Book: Isom By Eric July publisbed by Ripperverse
Best Scifi Fantasy TV Series: Cyberpunk: Edgerunners on Netflix
Best Fantasy Movie: Puss In Boots: The Last Wish directed by Joel Crawford
Best Digital Game: Warhammer 40k: Boltgun by Blizzard Interactive
Best Tabletop Game: Cat Magic by Lydia Sherrer
If enough of ud vote for stuff with actual merit, losers like Patrick and Oogipeki won't even stand a chance. Let's make sure no TOR books authors get a Dragon Award this year!
