Just listened to season 1 of Crank Yankers and the whole thing sounds scripted

Most notably people calling to complain about lost packages. Makes no sense how they would field those calls. Also Jimmy Kimmel was funny so that’s suspect enough.
I think those calls were the Touch Tone Terrorist he would buy phone numbers that were a digit out from a delivery company and wait for the calls. If I recall correctly UPS tried going after him legally at one point.

That’s brilliant. Trust me, I want to believe they’re real. I’ve been howling at the Carolla ones all morning.

Carolla used to complain on Loveline about having to go to Vegas to tape Crank Yankers. He doesn't strike me as the type to lie on the radio to pump up a shitty cable show.
I must not have gotten to that year yet then. Okay guys, I was wrong. Crank Yankers is above all else real.

I remember there was a lot of press about how the comedians had to record the calls in Vegas because Nevada laws allowed one-party consent to record phonecalls. So I think the show was legit.

I live in Nevada and I'm not sure if everyone is stupid, inbred, high, drunk or all of the above. People just do some really nonsensical shit out here. I've lived all over and this place is just something else.

Someone on the Vegas subreddit once posted a video of some Galaxy Brain who tried to walk from one casino to another casino. Not a big deal right? But there's a freeway between them. So he made it about two seconds before he got turned into a red mist. And then he got hit again, and again, and again, and again.

By the end of the video, it just looked like something out of Smash TV.

You might read this and think "well that probably happens once a year."

It happens so much, there are iron fences all over the place, and I still see people running through traffic nearly every time I head down to the strip. See that green fence in the pic above? That wasn't there 20 years ago. They had to add it to keep people from doing dumb shit. In their defense, traffic on the strip is super slow, so people running across eight lanes of traffic is just annoying, not explosive. The freeway is just west of the Strip, and I assume the dude who got exploded was probably too drunk to realize he was running across an interstate highway, not the Las Vegas Strip.

Also, the reason that windows don't open in Vegas hotels is because people kept falling out of them. The city is a magnet for stupid people (I am a stupid person.)
