The DMAN loves his Jesus. The DMAN would be lying if he said he knows every fact about Jesus... But is it common knowledge that Jews killed Jesus? The DMAN's own father is adamant that "the Romans killed Jesus."

The DMAN can surmise from the term "Christ Killer" that at least some people acknowledge the fact that Jews killed Jesus.

Here is The DMAN's understanding of the scenario: Jesus Christ of Nazareth was walking around and saying some heavy shit to people, things that they just weren't ready for, and the people (the jabrones) reacted in a wild and unpredictable inappropriate manner. Jesus was just speaking and demonstrating the facts, and the Romans and especially the Jews didn't like that. The didn't like it one bit, to be perfectly honest with you.

Jesus was flipping tables over the Jews taxing people and charging interest, No? And at the end of the day, the Romans were only kinda pissed off, but they decided to let Jesus off the hook... The Jews in the crowd manipulated the hate, and used the divide and conquer technique on the Romans and Jesus, in order to convince the Romans to kill Jesus for saying odd shit to people dude. So saying "the Romans killed Jesus" would be technically accurate from a Jew's lips.

Whether you believe Jesus was magical or not, HOW did he deserve any of that? Especially considering they were likely aware of his special birth? Going down the river and all that. The Jewish leaders in Rome created bullshit "BLASPHEMY" charges and ended up calling it "treason." No sweaty, It's called speaking truth to power, and the Jews hated Jesus for that. But here's a kicker for all you Jew haters who love Jesus... Did you know that Jesus was actually a Jew? No shit

The Jews (not all of them, obviously) were upset that He was calling Himself God. The Romans were pretty ambivalent about the whole thing. Pontius Pilate was going to let it slide because it really wasn't an issue for Rome but the priests and Pharisees convinced him that there was going to be a revolt on account of Christ. When Jesus was taken before Pilate He didn't beg and plead like Pilate supposed that He should and it was probably that lack of servility that pissed Pilate off and sealed the deal.

TLDR

Yes the Romans were the instrument that the enemies of Christ used to ensure His death but if it hadn't been for their whining and kvetching and lying (Jesus was never angling for a revolt and He made that clear) it wouldn't have gone down like that.

I've got no animus against the guy. He wouldn't have done it of his own accord and you're correct that he had to balance justice against peace in his region. I still think he may have been a bit peeved that Jesus accepted the title King of the Jews and didn't try to mount a defense but it's just a personal opinion and has no bearing on anything.
