You look at other races of gangs and they’re all fucked up and disconnected, no organizational power structure. They have the Northern / Southern Cali Mexican gangs that have been warring with each other for 50 years over a pair of shoes. Well yeah but it was Charlie Luciano who controlled the ports and to commute his sentence he made that happen (Lansky was an associate and basically a messenger). He was the one most tied up in the Jewish side of the mafia and calling for everyone to work together rather than segregate by race and fight each other. Without him it would have stayed a tribalist fiefdom system whereby no-one co-operated. There's only about 12 years between him becoming the main boss of NY crime and the US getting into WW2

It really is a matter of a certain people that were ostracized like all different groups being driven into middle management. The Jews managed to parlay themselves into a violent contingent into power players totally different than the old school ones that controlled certain trades in the states. It really was pretty impressive. I actually admire them as a half guniea for that.
