Is there any good fantasy books apart from Tolkien?

Anything by Robert E Howard - be it the Conan stories, or Kull the Conqueror, Bran Mak Morn or my favorite, Solomon Kane. Conan and Kull are more fantasy based, but Kane is a Puritan who wanders the world, in particular Africa, fighting things like vampire queens, zombies, pirates and others in the name of God. Definitely check out the Bran Mak Morn story "Worms of the Earth" for a very memorable, eerie tale.

Beyond that I would also recommend the Elric of Melnibone stories by Michael Moorcock. Elric is an albino sorcerer, who has a soul sucking sword called Stormbringer, which gives him strength. But soon his sword is trying to urge him to take more lives than he's willing, almost like it's sentient, in a chilling metaphor for addiction.

Elric serves the Gods of Chaos in a world of Chaos, but soon realizes that he's tasked with bringing about the end of his entire world so that the Age of Order might begin.

They're all short stories and easily digestible.

I downloaded off the app store 2 huge Conan compilations a ton of short stories. The narrator's girl voice is a bit corny but otherwise some fun Conan tales.
This was on android and it was only couple bucks not sure how much Tim Apple will charge you for the privilege of using the apple store.
